Graduation

June is know for the month of granducation of all schools from pre school to Unverstiy level.  It is a time where familys are so proud and happy that their child has made it and have graduate with honors. Graducation is also a feeling of self pride and honor and happness because you made it, becausse all that hard work and late night studing paid off.  So study hard and pass your exam and make you parents and your self pround when that day comes.

Diploma Exam

Diploma exam this the last and final exam of your four years at high school.  This exam is nerve racking and frighting to some people.  The reason for this is that it makes you or brakes you.  Therefore, if you pass the exam and your other term you are most likely to graduate, on the other hand if you fail that then you have to make sure that your other terms are high to allow you to pass, but if you other terms are not high then most likely you will have to return to fourth form for another year an I know no one wants that.

My advice in taking diploma exam just relax make sure that you study and to have confidence in yourself and most of all take your time when taking the exam and make sure that you answer all question to the best of your ability.

Good luck to all those taking their diploma exam and that all goes well.

Miss taken identity

Miss taken identity is something that is greatly affecting the number of death in Belize.  The reason for this is that a person would take someone else for their victim and in the end kill an innocent person.  Miss identity can destroy a person reputation if  the person continue to carry the information incorrectly because of miss identity.  This can happen to anyone, even you.  In one such case a young lady was taken for someone else for miss classes and the person told her parents and they scold and punish her because of what they were told.  She tried to explain it to them that it was not her and her parents did not believe her, as a results  her parents began to lose trust in her because of what they were told.  Therefore miss taken identity does not only kills us, but also damages the trust between the individual and their peers.

Saint Agnes for January 21

SAINT AGNES
Virgin and Martyr

Saint Agnes was twelve years old when she was led to the altar of Minerva at Rome and commanded to obey the persecuting laws of Diocletian by offering incense. In the midst of the idolatrous rites she raised her hands to Christ, her Spouse, and made the sign of the life-giving cross. She did not shrink when she was bound hand and foot, though the manacles slipped from her young hands, and the heathens who stood around were moved to tears. Bonds were not needed for her; she hastened gladly to the place of her torture.

When the judge saw that pain had no terrors for her, he inflicted a sentence comporting an insult worse than death: she was condemned to be taken to a house of infamy and her clothes stripped off. “I have an Angel with me,” she said, “and he will guard me. Christ, whom you do not know, surrounds me like a wall which cannot be forced.” And so it occurred. The Spouse of Virgins revealed, by a miracle, His custody of the pure in heart: her hair grew miraculously to such a length that she was entirely covered by it. The place to which she was taken was illuminated by a brilliant, inexplicable light; and there she knelt down to pray. At that site a Church has been built in honor of this young maiden’s victory over impurity. Only an impudent suitor, the cause of her arraignment as a Christian, dared approach her, and her Angel struck him dead at her feet. His father prayed Agnes to raise him up again by her magic arts; she answered that magic was not responsible for his death, but only the young pagan’s lack of respect for God. She said she would pray to Him that her Lord’s glory might be manifested by the miracle his father requested, and it was granted to her prayer.

At length the sentence of death by the sword was passed upon her by a subordinate judge. For a moment she stood erect in prayer, then bowed her neck to the sword, rejoicing that the time of her liberation had arrived. The Angels bore her pure soul to Paradise. A week after her death, Saint Agnes appeared to her parents as they were praying at her tomb; she was amid a choir of virgins clothed in golden robes and crowned with garlands. She begged them not to weep for her as for one dead, telling them rather to rejoice with her in her happiness.

A Belizean Poem By Belize's own Mr. Edward Broaster Number Two

My Treasure

Most people value material of this world
Such as silver, gold, diamonds, and pearl
While to others love & friendship is vital
The lust for these jewelries becomes fatal

Though some indulge in worldly pleasure
Love is & will be my most valuable treasure
Happiness comes not with possession of riches
Certainly not in common areas men reach

During the time I have to spend some leisure
It is then I examine myself & gather composure
Relinquishing stress is not hard to redress
As tender hand and oil down my back caress

Think not of financial gain I try other amenities
Surly this avoid pain, providing needed security
Knowledge is power and power is wisdom
In love lies all my treasures and freedom

My reflection
Every one has what they class or make as their treasure but how every his on is love because with love all his other things come along with. You could have all the riches in the world but if you don't have love you will not have the other treasures that come with it such as freedom, peach and so much more.

Holy Week

This is the last week of Lent and Holy Week will then come in to play.  Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday.  Palm Sunday was the day that Jesus came in to Jerusalem and was greeted by the people with palms and he was on a donkey.  In today's time the father bless the palm and then the congregation would walk around then walk in to church.  The palms that are left will be burn and be used for Ash Wednesday for next year.  After Palm Sunday is Holy Thursday where the church would cover the crucifix of Jesus on till Holy week is completed after Holy Thursday is Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday.

Movies

There are different kind of movies that are made to satisfied the different take that each person have in movies such as romance, action, family, comedy, killer, horror movie and much more that people like.  Movies were first made in black and white and without using a computer or different animation but  as the years fly pass the movies have developed dramatically meaning they are now made in color, are animated, have stunts that   you can’t see because of the computer and movies with both people and cartoon.  Movies are also based on true stories, novels or comic book and this is done so as to give to that clear picture of what happen or who your super hero really was.  My favorite move is scary movies, karate movies, some kids one just most of all one that is interesting and easy to understand and have a good meaning behind it.

Cell Phone

In today world this is the main way in which business, students and regular people to contact and communicate to each other. However do you think that you can be additive to the cell phone?  I think that yes it can be additive especially when it come to texting because as a teenager it is either texting or chatting on the internet.  Therefore as a teenage I always make sure that I have my phone on me where every I go an also check it to see if get a text or just to see the time hence it makes me feel if I am addictive to it.  However this is the reason why I think teenager are additive to the cell phone.

A Caribbean Poem By Martin Carter

This is the dark time my love

This is the dark time, my love,
All round the land brown beetles crawl about.
The shining sun is hidden in the sky.
Red flowers bend their heads in awful sorrow.

This is the dark time, my love.
It is the season of oppression, dark metal, and tears.
It is the festival of guns, the carnival of misery.
Everywhere the faces of men are strained and anxious.

Who comes walking in the dark nigh time?
Whose boot of steel tramps down the slender grass?
Is is the man of death, my love, the strang invader
Watching you sleep and aiming at your dream.

My Reflection

Is trying to bring both good and bad thing in to sight to compare what is bad and good in times of war.  The persona is tell you that it is a dark time because war and that the other side is coming in the night not to take your dreams but to kill and distroy you.  It is also tell you that there will always be dark times and problem and that it can come in any time of the day or night.

Dreams and Aspiration

"Shoot for the stars"

From we were small we was constantly ask what you want to be in life when you grow up.  Most would say a teacher, doctor, lawyer, fireman and much more.  However every year we get older we change our mind on what we wanted to be in life, but we should have dreams and aspiration because it helps us set gold and helps us to work hard and try to do our best and be the best so has to make our family and friends proud.  When I was younger I wanted to be a fisher man (woman), an engineer, a marine researcher, a dive master, and a business owner.  Through my years of growing up I would change my mind whenever they asked me.  However, I think I have set my mind what I wanted to be in life and to make my family proud and feel good in side.  I want to be a Certified Public Accountant and open my own accounting firm, or become a teacher in teaching accounting and other business subject. Therefore, I am working hard and going sleepless night so has to be the best that I can be in life and as a person.

Favorite Subject

In primary school, high school and in higher education we all have our most favorite and lest favorite subjects some preferred Math, English, Spanish, PE and much more because of what they love to do or was best in.  Some did not do well in some subject because maybe they hated to subject, wasn't go at it who knows it just how we are as human beings.

My favorite subject are not set but those that have in math I would say for example Math, Principles of Financing, Accounting which is my major, Business Statistics, Economics and much more.  The reason why I like these subjects is that they include calculation and critical think and commerhention skills that we can use when doing English comprehension. I also love to play with number meaning adding and subtracting and trying to figure out how to balance off in accounting and make equation balance in Math and Business Statistics.

When you find a subject that you like or good in enjoy it and do it to the best of your ability also along with the ones that you don’t like but try to put in the work with them as well.
Good Luck in school and continue to work hard because hard work does pay off.

Hobby

A hobby is an activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure, typically done during one's leisure time. There are many activiy that one call as their hobby such as reading, singing, dancing, swimming, and playing sports these are just a few hobbies becasue there are so much more out there.  Hobby is some thing that is a part of us is what brings out a little piece of us that people do no see on a daily bases.  Well my hooby would be playing sports, watching television, listening to music or praticing my katas for karate which is my most favorite.  Karate which means open hand, is a hobby that I love the most beacuse it is something in karate that just bring out a peice of me that is not seen at school when I am hangingout with friend but only when I am training at my dojo which is Red Dragon Martial Arts.

Pets

There are many different animals that people chose to make as pets such as dogs, cats, birds, horse, cow, chicken and so much more.  Pets are friends that are our companion, best friend, play toy and so much more of what you want to make of them.  So even tell their pets their darkest secret because they know that if they tell them they will not tell any one else about it.  Pets is also help full in keeping ones company when they get older or even be a life savior or a guild for example the guide for the visually impaired.   However to me i have five pets which are 4 dogs and one parrot, and they are the most fun and exciting pets I have ever had and I could not have had it any better.  They are Jr, Goldy (my daughter), Sheba, Shadow and Pally.  And they are very fun to have as pets.

A Caribbean Poem By Henry King

A Contemplation Upon Flowers

Brave flowers, that I could gallant it like you,
And be as little vain;
You come abroad and make a harmless show,
And to your beds of earth again;
You are not proud, you know your birth,
For your embroidered garments are from earth.

You do obey your months and times, but I
Would have it ever spring;
My fare would know no winter, never die,
Nor think of such a thing;
Oh that I could my bed of earth but view,
And smile and look as cheerfully as you.

Oh teach me to see death and not to fear,
But rather to take truce;
How often have I seen  you at a bier,
And there look fresh and spruce;
You fragrant flowers then teach me that my breath
Like yours may sweeten and perfume my death.

My reflection
This poem is saying that flowers come into this world and blosm and accept death.  Also the flowers is not a fraid of death but dies with pride and gracefuly die.  It is also saying that the person whats to be like to flower and to not be afraid of death but to accept it cause it is part of us and its a part of life that we can not run away from. Hence is just want to accept death and die gracefully like the flower.

Cricket

Is a sport which is know as a bat-and-ball team sport.  Cricket can definitely be traced back to Tudor times in early 16th-century England, and in today's times it is wildly played by most villagers in the country of Belize.  In the villages this sport is know for gathering the most crowd and it is also a sport that villagers will even fight for.  From the small children in the rural areas play cricket on a daily basis compare to a child from city who plays basketball with that same passion as them.
 The objective of each team is to score more runs than the other team and to completely dismiss the other team. In limited overs cricket, winning the game is achieved by scoring the most runs, even if the opposition has not been completely dismissed. In Test cricket, it is necessary to score the most runs and dismiss the opposition twice in order to win the match, which would otherwise be drawn.
Cricket
Number of players ( in each side ) : 11
Roles played by them : BATSMEN, BOWLERS, FIELDERS
Elements : Wickets, Cricket ball, Cricket bat, Pitch, Boundary.
Referees: 3 people (Umpire, Leg Umpire, Third Umpire -- relatively new rule)
Shape of playing field: Mostly Oval, ellipsoidal, sometimes.. a square. [ But, the boundary that is marked .. is always a ellipse ]
I have played the game before and I can say yes it is a bit confusing and hard to understand but it is a lot of fun to play and it a new sport to play than the regular basketball game.
